Savannah Esarey Part Two discussion
The second part of the book was so interesting and really told stories unlike the first part. The personal stories of people in the Appalachian mountains also in Chicago and places that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. The SNAP program doesn't seem to do what it is made for, there are still so many families that are without food on a daily basis. All of the percentages and statistics really made it real and easier to understand how many americans have been affected by poverty.
Question for final: What are some ways the Government could improve the SNAP program and the other programs that help people in poverty?
